What this guide is: an independent desk that sails and writes it up, with no operator paying for its place
Elle Make Better is a small editorial desk. We board evening cruises, stay for the sailing, and write what we find. No operator pays for coverage or for the way it is described on these pages.
We are not a booking agency, not a ticket seller, and not affiliated with any cruise named here. The only outbound action this site offers is an enquiry form that stays on ellemakebetter.com.
How a cruise gets reviewed — what we look at, and in what order
Each review follows the same spine: boarding, crew, the room or deck, service, and what passengers have written publicly. Our writer sails once, takes notes, and drafts an account in their own voice.
We check facts we can verify — address, phone, category, rating at source — and we leave out what we cannot. Weather and water conditions can shorten or delay any sailing; we say that plainly because it affects every evening on the water.
Why every review quotes real passengers word for word, and why we never edit those quotes
Passenger reviews were published by their authors on public platforms. Reproducing them verbatim — same wording, same spelling, same length — is the only honest way to show what people actually said.
A tidied quote is no longer that person's words. Unflattering reviews sit beside favourable ones because both are part of the picture. We do not commission reviews and we do not filter them to flatter an operator.
What this guide does NOT do: no tickets sold, no places held, no affiliation with any operator
We sell nothing. We hold no tables, seats or places. We take no payment and collect no card details. An enquiry you send is transferred to our reservation partner, whose team contacts you directly.
